The Master of Indigenous Language Education (MILEd) prepares graduates to be leaders in Indigenous language education, focusing on the revitalization, instruction, and integration of Indigenous languages into educational settings. The program is intended for fluent Indigenous language speakers who wish to develop expertise to serve as teachers, curriculum developers, or community leaders in Indigenous language revitalization. It provides opportunities for in-depth learning about Indigenous knowledge systems, approaches to language revitalization, and the development of resource materials relevant to Indigenous community contexts. Courses are delivered in cohort format, with increased options for hybrid and online learning. The program also offers strong research and experiential learning elements, supporting its aim to provide leadership in Indigenous language reclamation.
