The Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Regina's Faculty of Arts provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the spatial aspects of both human and physical environments. The program covers human geography (the study of how people interact with their environments and the resulting cultural, economic, and social patterns), physical geography (such as climate, natural processes, and biogeography), and core environmental studies subjects (including resource management, sustainability, and global environmental challenges such as climate change and resource depletion). Students acquire observational, analytical, spatial thinking, and field-based research skills, with opportunities for hands-on learning through fieldwork and co-operative education placements in public and private sectors. Graduates may pursue further academic research or enter careers in planning, GIS, conservation, public policy, and environment-focused organizations.
