The Bachelor of Arts in Resource and Environmental Studies at the University of Regina introduces students to resource and environmental legislation, resource management, contemporary environmental issues, and environmental and community health. The program emphasizes how these topics affect Indigenous peoples, cultures, and histories. It is a joint program with Saskatchewan Polytechnic (Woodland Campus) and First Nations University of Canada. Admission requires completion of either the Saskatchewan Polytechnic Resource and Environmental Law Diploma or the Integrated Resource Management Diploma, after which students are granted 60 credit hours of block transfer; the remaining 60 credits are completed at the University of Regina. Core courses include Ecology and Justice, Indigenous Economic, Environmental and Geographic Systems, Human Environment Impact, and Land Use/Management. Graduates pursue careers as conservation officers, environmental consultants, and related roles.
