The Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science at the University of Regina trains students in mathematics, statistics, and risk management, specifically for applying these skills to the insurance and pension industries. It is the only program of its kind in Saskatchewan and one of 11 Canadian undergraduate actuarial programs accredited by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries. The curriculum covers actuarial mathematics, actuarial models, finance, accounting, statistics, probability, calculus, economics, and risk theory. Practical learning is enhanced through a one-year internship opportunity with insurance, pension, and consulting firms. Graduates have high employment rates in the actuarial industry, with many obtaining professional actuarial designations and advancing into roles such as actuaries, risk assessment statisticians, and data analysts.
