The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology at the University of Regina is a unique joint program involving partner colleges (Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Lethbridge College, and Lakeland College). Students first complete a two-year diploma in Integrated Resource Management, Renewable Resource Management, Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation, or Conservation and Restoration Ecology at a partner institution. Afterward, students transfer to the University of Regina for two years to complete their BSc. The program emphasizes hands-on, field-based experiential learning and covers environmental and ecological issues, biological modelling, wildlife and fish biology, plant and animal physiology, limnology, and biogeochemistry. Students learn to monitor, assess, and manage natural resources, apply mapping and remote sensing techniques, and conduct research in environmental biology. Graduates are prepared for public and private sector careers in ecological consulting, conservation, environmental impact assessment, and natural resource management.
