The Bachelor of Science in Medical Radiation Technology at the University of Regina is a joint program with Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Students must first complete a two-year Medical Radiologic Technology diploma recognized by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT), such as the program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. After obtaining the diploma, students can transfer 60 credit hours to the University of Regina and complete two more years of study to earn their bachelor's degree. The program deepens students' theoretical and practical understanding of medical radiation technology, including scientific theory, professional ethics, health economics, Canadian health-care issues, organizational behaviour, and human resource management. Graduates are prepared for advanced roles in medical imaging such as Medical Radiological Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Medical Radiation Therapist, or further research and teaching roles. Employment opportunities exist in hospitals, clinics, cancer centers, and community health organizations.
