The Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Social Justice at the University of Waterloo (Faculty of Arts) trains students to advocate for equity, diversity, and positive social change. The program explores the roles gender and sex play in shaping society, using an intersectional feminist lens to analyze systems and representations of gender, sexuality, race, ethnicity, disability, and class. Students develop expertise in diversity, equality, and justice through core courses such as Global Queer Cinema, Race and Resistance, and Gender and Social Justice in Popular Culture. Co-op options are available, providing valuable work experience during the degree. The University of Waterloo participates in the UN HeForShe IMPACT initiative, promoting gender equity locally and globally.
