The Bachelor of Arts in Sexualities, Relationships, and Families (SRF) at the University of Waterloo provides an interdisciplinary exploration of sexuality, relationships, communication, parenting skills, and the impact of culture and media on gender, sex, and relationships from a social justice perspective. The program encourages critical thinking about human interactions within relational, sexual, and societal contexts and examines topics such as sexuality education, family conflict, cultural values, and the effects of media. Students benefit from small class sizes and a close-knit community at St. Jerome’s University, with opportunities for specializations (Counselling, Human Services Practicum, Intensive Research), minors, and a practicum or co-op work experience. The program is recognized as NCFR CFLE-approved for Certified Family Life Educator coursework and prepares graduates for careers in teaching, counselling, social services, and community engagement.
