The Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at the University of Waterloo, Faculty of Arts (School of Social Work at Renison University College), is a post-degree professional program designed to prepare students for generalist social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities. The curriculum emphasizes social justice, equity, and respect for diversity, and integrates both academic coursework and a field practicum to ensure graduates are equipped for a wide range of social service and community settings. Instruction blends in-person and blended/online formats for full-time and part-time options. Upon graduation, students are eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and can pursue advanced standing in a Master of Social Work program.
