The Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program—the first of its kind in Canada—offered by the Faculty of Engineering. Students learn to design and build sophisticated computer-controlled electromechanical systems, including robotics, drones, autonomous vehicles, and smart devices. The curriculum integrates mechanical design, electronics, control systems, programming, and sensor technology, and provides hands-on experience with cutting-edge labs and tools. All students complete two years of paid co-op industry experience, facilitating career readiness in fields such as robotics, aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. Graduates are equipped to innovate in intelligent machine design.
