The Bachelor of Science (Climate and Environmental Change) at the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo, equips students with a scientific understanding of the challenges facing Earth's environment. Through a blend of courses in biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and human geography, students gain expertise in areas such as climate change fundamentals, climatology, hydrology, remote sensing, GIS, and climate justice. The program emphasizes problem solving at the intersection of natural and human systems, preparing graduates to address issues such as resource scarcity, environmental degradation, and the development of sustainable solutions. Hands-on experiences include labs, fieldwork, and an option for paid work experience through the co-op stream. Waterloo's Geography department is ranked in the top 100 globally and top 5 in Canada. The program prepares graduates for careers in government, business, industry, and non-governmental organizations addressing the climate crisis.
