The Bachelor of Science (Earth Sciences) at the University of Waterloo provides an in-depth study of the Earth's structure, composition, and physical, chemical, and biological processes shaping our planet. Students choose from three specializations: Geology, Geophysics, or Hydrogeology. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on experience through advanced labs, fieldwork, and research, preparing graduates for dynamic careers in natural resources, environmental management, geohazard analysis, and more. Co-op students graduate with up to 20 months of paid work experience. The program is designed to satisfy requirements for Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) registration in Ontario upon graduation.
