The Bachelor of Environmental Studies (Planning) at the University of Waterloo is a multidisciplinary undergraduate program that covers economic and legal issues, design skills, land development, and GIS technology. Students learn to manage the sustainable growth of communities, guide residential and commercial development, and design efficient transit networks. The program's co-op option allows students to alternate academic terms with paid work placements, providing up to 20 months of real-world experience, a valuable professional network, and strong employability upon graduation. Graduates often pursue careers in municipal planning, policy, consulting, or further professional certification as Registered Professional Planners.
