The Bachelor of Arts in Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Waterloo’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences (now Faculty of Health) develops students' understanding of recreation's vital role in promoting health and well-being. The program offers majors in Recreation, Leadership, and Health; Sport and Recreation Management; and Therapeutic Recreation. Through a blend of theoretical coursework and hands-on experiential learning including field trips and practicums, students gain expertise in designing, managing, and delivering inclusive recreation programs that strengthen communities and enhance quality of life. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles in one of the world's largest industries — recreation, travel, and leisure.
