The Master of Arts (MA) in Latin American and Caribbean Studies (LACS) at the University of Guelph is Canada's only interdisciplinary LACS master's program and must be pursued as a collaborative specialization in combination with another MA program (such as International Development or Sexualities, Genders and Bodies). The program offers students the chance to engage with internationally renowned faculty, participate in innovative research across the humanities and social sciences, and complete significant pedagogical training recognized with a College of Arts Certificate in Teaching. Courses and research projects can be undertaken in English or Spanish. Graduates are prepared for diverse careers requiring analytical, research, communication, and bilingual skills, with many entering roles in NGOs, international organizations, education, culture, and the public sector, or pursuing doctoral studies.
