The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Classical and Modern Cultures at the University of Guelph explores the development of culture from classical antiquity to modern times. The program combines core studies in classical Greek and Roman history, mythology, philosophy, and art with modern European culture, focusing on decolonization and indigenization of cultural institutions and policies. Students select an Area of Emphasis—Classical Studies, Global European Studies, or Languages and Linguistics—by the end of their third semester. The program stresses experiential learning and research, including a capstone seminar, and is suitable for careers or advanced study in related fields.
