The Bachelor of One Health (BOH) at the University of Guelph is the first undergraduate degree of its kind in Canada. It takes an interdisciplinary approach to health, examining connections among human, animal, and environmental health at individual, population, and ecosystem levels. Students complete core courses in health sciences and social sciences, then select one of four Areas of Emphasis: Disease, Complexity and Health; Environment, Food and Health; Policy, Economics and Health; or Culture, Society and Health. The program integrates real-world experiences, guest lectures, and a capstone project linking students to external partners. The BOH is designed to prepare graduates to address complex, multidisciplinary health challenges by drawing on strengths in biological and social sciences, veterinary medicine, and agriculture.
