The Bachelor of Applied Science in Applied Human Nutrition at the University of Guelph prepares students with a scientifically grounded, evidence-based understanding of human nutrition from biological, social, and behavioral science perspectives. The curriculum covers core nutritional science, food systems, public health nutrition, and includes laboratory and seminar-based experiential learning. Students explore how nutrition can maintain health and prevent disease, and how behaviour and social factors influence dietary habits across the lifespan. The program includes an area of emphasis in dietetics, accredited under the Partnership for Dietetic Education and Practice (PDEP), allowing graduates to pursue registration as dietitians after completing post-graduation internships and the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination. Graduates are prepared for diverse careers in health, education, industry, food policy, and community work, or for further study in graduate or professional programs.
